Melt the coconut oil and pour it right over the pretzels! Then pour the cinnamon sugar mixture over the oil coated pretzels and stir. The smell is heavenly and you will need to fight the temptation to devour the pretzels at the point! (I stirred the pretzels in a giant orange bowl which reflected the light and made the pretzels in the photo look orange. Sorry.)

Bake the pretzels in a low heat oven for an hour, stirring every 15 minutes. I have tried these baked at a higher temperature, which is faster, but the pretzels started to burn so I went back to a lower heat.

I used coconut oil for another layer of flavor, but do not worry, the pretzels will not taste of coconut. Don’t like coconut oil? Use a vegetable oil instead.

INGREDIENTS

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Preheat the oven to 225°F.
  • In a small bowl combine the sugar and cinnamon.
  • In a large bowl, pour the melted oil over the pretzels stirring until the pretzels are coated.
  • Pour the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the pretzels and stir gently until the pretzels are covered. Spread the coated pretzels on a large baking sheet in a single layer (you may need two baking sheets), and place the pan in the oven.
  • Bake the pretzels for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, spread on waxed paper and allow to cool completely,
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

NOTES

Note – Vegetable oil may be substituted for Coconut oil
