Ingredients

For the Salad

  • 4 cups romaine lettuce hearts chopped
  • 1 medium english cucumber sliced into bite-size pieces
  • 2 stalks green onion sliced thin
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 medium red bell pepper stemmed and seeded, chopped
  • 2 tbsp sunflower seeds
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped

For the Dressing

  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley minced
  • 1 tsp fresh dill chopped
  • 1 tsp celery seeds
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt optional
  • 1/8 tsp ground black pepper

Instructions 

  • In a large bowl, toss all of the salad ingredients until well blended.
  • Place all dressing ingredients in a small bowl and whisk until smooth.
  • Serve salad family style, with dressing on the side.
  • Refrigerate remaining salad in a covered container for up to 3 days and dressing in a sealed container for up to 1 week.
