Pumpkins Embellished with Metallics
Pumpkins should be named as the perfect mascot for Fall! I really believe that pumpkins define Fall in a way that nothing else can. They are colorful, versatile and tasty! While I love to cook with pumpkins, dressing them up is far and away my favorite thing to do with them.
To dress up my new faux pumpkins, I created some embellishments and painted some that I already had. Metallics are hot this season, so what better to use than metallics for my “pumpkin bling”! Note- I had painted my faux pumpkins coastal colors before starting this project.
The metallics were really simple to make. For the wire embelishments , I just took some bronze wire and a crown and a flea ur de lis necklace ornament. The ornaments were each shot with a coat of copper paint ( they were a dark silver color) and attached to the bonze wire. The wire was wrapped around the pumpkin stem and I bent it until I liked how it looked.
I already had two of the star and berry wraps. They started out as candle rings. A coat of copper paint to make them look metallic and they were ready to go. One candle rings was placed on top of a pumpkin, so the berries on the wire were hanging down to resemble vines. The ring is secured with a burlap bow.
The second wrap has the pumpkin sitting on top of the ring, and the berry vines are wrapped upward around the pumpkin.
The largest pumpkin is sporting another of my homemade bronze wire wraps, this time with a large silver crown attached and two smaller necklace ornaments.
Now that I have embellished pumpkins with gorgeous metallics for Fall, I am inspired to do a lot more with copper and silver. Stay tuned for upcoming projects!
Pumpkins give us a gorgeous surface to work on for our Fall decor. I really hope you were inspired by my Pumpkins Embellished with Metallics. Do you plan to use metallics in your Fall decor this year? Have you already decorated with them? Please share the details! I would love to hear from you:) I hope that you have a wonderful day!!
Till next time – Christine
