I love to do Holiday Party Favor bags! Someone told me recently that they are going out of style, unless it is for a big event, like a wedding. I really hope that is not true. Making up the favors is so fun and really easy to do and is right in the holiday spirit. I usually fill them with food or candles. It is a simple, final touch and when done up for the holidays can add a lot of interest to the tabletop or place setting, however you wish to display them. I used to put them by the door (what was I thinking?) to be given as guests left. By that time, I usually forgot to hand them out and I had lots of sad bags that would not be going home with a nice person.
For my lastest get together, I gathered a variety of things to fill the Holiday Party Favor bags. I started with a small bottle of Apple Cider in each bag to anchor them and went from there. See all of the goodies I gathered….
There is cider, tea light holders, chocolates, spicy peanuts, pistachios, candy cane sticks and cookies. I picked up all of these at the dollar store. Don’t you just love the bright colors? The gold and silver gift bags were also dollar store purchases. I topped each bag off with tissue paper to prevent peeking and set them on the sideboard. Oh my, the bags really light up the table.
